My Students

The students at my school are the best students that I have ever had the opportunity to work with. They have a positive attitude and a genuine excitement to learn in all subject areas. Students show high creativity and willingness to go above and beyond teacher expectations when involved in a creative project.

My students show a high interest in their music class and come ready to learn.

In music they develop the skills they need to continue on to middle school, high school, and college. Students learn how to play, sing, dance, and read music. They also engage in writing and creating their own pieces in the music classroom. All students show genuine enjoyment in their music class and it is a joy to have them.

My Project

Students in grades 3-5 are learning how to play recorder. A class set recorder books and a classroom set of good quality recorders will enhance their learning experience and provide the resources they need to learn how to play. Students will be involved in their educational process, reading, playing, and even working in small groups playing recorder together. Students will learn how to create their own music, as well as improvise.

A classroom set of recorder books and recorders will give all students equal access to materials for their learning.

This will help increase their reading skills not only in music, but in the general education classroom as well. Students will build reading skills as well as musicianship.
