Our middle-school students come from diverse backgrounds, both racially and socioeconomically. Yet each comes to school eager to learn. They trust the staff to meet each of them where they are academically and emotionally and expertly guide them along the path to mastery. We trust them to give us their best effort every day.
Our students expect to grow academically, but they don't expect the sense of community that results from building relationships with their teachers and each other.
They know their classmates well and are tolerant of one another's idiosyncrasies. It is an amazing group of young people to work with!
My Project
Since the beginning of the school year, my middle school colleagues and I have been teaching remotely. This has ensured the physical safety of our students & their families as the number of cases in our area has been steadily rising since August, but we very much worry about their mental health.
Our school has always made it a point to focus on the positive and recognize students when they are at their very best, whether that be behaviorally or academically.
We would like your help paying for the postage to send hand-written notes, small incentives, birthday cards and other good vibes to our kids at home. With your generous donation we can brighten the day of every student at least once this school year by recognizing them for doing their best!
