My Students
Our student body is made up of weekend fishermen, hunters and young farmers. These students are a small group of young minds from rural areas in Hawaii. We are a small school that has great accomplishments in both athletic and academic areas. They look forward to taking on the many challenges from all aspects in life.
My students welcome every opportunity to use their creativity and make visual works that demonstrates their understanding in visual art.
These young artists will benefit from new art materials.
My Project
This project empowers my students to properly reclaim well used silkscreen frames and give them new life with a sheet of new fabric mesh. The stretcher machine along with tensioner will assist students in properly stretching out screens tight and even. They will learn to reclaim aluminum frames that have been well used. They will also learn that there is a tremendous responsibility as a young artist in being as resourceful as possible whenever possible in order to minimize unnecessary waste. Reclaiming screen frames will provide a full circle of the screen printing process and from their start to finish.
