This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love to play outside and I want to give them the opportunity to play different sports together. New soccer balls, footballs, kickballs and cones will allow students to practice teamwork and experience playing an organized game.
These donations will help nurture existing relationships between the students at recess, which will improve their teamwork in the classroom.
My school is located in a suburban area with children coming from low-income families. I have 39 students that LOVE to play outside! The majority of my students come from low-income families. Due to this, many of them do not have the opportunity to be on a sports team outside of school. This will give them the chance to play a more organized game. The best part is, even with our ELL students, sports and play knows no language barriers. Everyone can be included!!
