Fun and effective recess times are more needed than ever right now as students are spending increased amounts of time not just sitting but sitting on electronics with fewer opportunities for beneficial movement to keep a healthy and balanced life. Students are not able to walk around the room to get out typical energy, and I am at a school where students only have access to the playground twice on a six-day rotation due to high numbers and safety. We are assigned play areas for four days of our rotation in which students are in open spaces. It is difficult to maintain appropriate behavior without materials to assist in active play.
The items I am requesting will allow students to get out excess energy safely.
They will be used in a group when we cannot be on the playground. They will also allow students to practice throwing and catching skills in a fun way.
