Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Walking into our school, you will find a diverse group of kids. Many of my students are English language learners, which means they are learning how to read, write, and speak English.

Our classroom is in an urban environment, filled with kids from all walks of life.

We are a Title I school, and our whole school gets free breakfast and lunch. I have a few students with troubled homes, which makes me work harder to create an environment where every child feels safe and able to learn the skills necessary to be ready for middle school and beyond.

My Project

Students are finally returning to class after being at home due to the pandemic. While returning to school is exciting, it also presents new challenges. Students will be required to follow social distancing protocols to keep them safe. This means recess needs to look a little different.

Kids need to be able to play, and burn off steam, to learn effectively.

CDC rules state that students must keep social distance, even when playing outside, and not share playground equipment. This is why I am requesting a variety of equipment for students to use while outside. Students can play and follow the rules!
