This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What an amazing group of first graders! I have a diverse group of 22 little learners. They are eager to learn all sorts of new things in first grade. Many of them come from difficult home lives, and they look forward to being at school every day. I have several English as a new language learners who are still learning English, but they come with smiles on their faces, ready to learn. I know they are going to do great things this year, and I'm excited to watch them grow!

My Project

The cold days of winter have started and we will be indoors for the next few months. Many of our activities are broken or are missing pieces.

Can you help reboot our recess time?

I am asking for some new activities not only to entertain, but to keep our brains working during recess. My students love to create. I am asking for STEM activities like construction building toys, magnetic blocks, and wooden building blocks. They love to work cooperatively and construct things together. They also love to play games like Sorry and Connect 4. My girls especially love to do puzzles. We would love to bring some new life back into our tired old recess toys!
