Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class of 32 kindergartners is active, enthusiastic, and energetic, as well as compassionate, caring, and helpful. My students attend a Title 1 school and they come to school happy and ready to learn every day.
My kindergarteners enjoy school and being active at recess.
I have a student this year that is confined to a wheelchair and this student needs activities to engage at recess with the other students. It would be amazing to give my student opportunities to be active from the wheelchair. After all, recess is the best part of the day. Ask any student.
My Project
The ring toss, Simon games, and other items will make a difference in the lives of all of the children in my class. By providing inclusive recess activities, my students will continue to develop and nourish their friendships and character. These recess activities will allow my wheelchair-bound student to organize and be active and involved in games with her peers. They will provide social-emotional growth for all and encourage inclusiveness and acceptance.
These simple requests will allow my student in a wheelchair to participate in enjoyable activities with her peers.
I know that my student will be very excited to have new opportunities on the playground.
