Ours is small school with a big heart. Each day the kids come eager to learn, connect with their friends, and grow with their teachers. This year we have a new Student Council. This amazing group of student leaders has shared there is a lack of playground equipment to play with at recess. The Student Council gathered feedback from every class to come up with a plan to improve the school community. Their first mission: recess.
"There's nothing to do at recess." Right now the kids have two playground balls and two jump ropes to share.
The kids are dreaming of new playground equipment. Now more than ever, kids need a break from sitting in class with COVID protocols. Recess is their sacred time to connect with someone from another class, expend energy, and get fresh air.

My Project
Our students are creative and brilliant individuals. Each day they push themselves to be their best despite many life obstacles. These stellar students look forward to their recess time...a chance to connect with friends, take a mental break, and get active!
Recess is when kids get to release energy and reconnect with buddies.
A time to practice life skills - like how to cooperate during Four Square, how to problem-solve a challenging kickball call, and how to engage positively with peers. But our kids need more play equipment to make recess rad!
