it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Getting this new equipment and the tennis ball covers for our chairs will really help maintain our classroom space keeping it clean and safe and make recess fun for the students. Our chairs usually end up broken, wobbly, and scratch up our floors which creates more work for our custodial staff. The new volleyballs and soccer balls will allow our students to play more team building games and continue learning about soccer and volleyball. We spend so many hours in the classroom learning and working hard, and we need to make sure that they are still having fun and getting some physical activity too. What better way of building community in the classroom than by playing games? It also gives our quieter students an opportunity to try something new and make new friends.
Our new students who do not speak English are able to participate and practice being leaders and teach other students about their culture through sports.
They feel so proud that they can introduce something new to others and create friendships by having fun.
