My Project

Right now, our recess period doesn't quite match the energy and creativity of our students. With only one ball and a few jump ropes to share among the entire class, many students find themselves wandering the perimeter or sitting on the sidelines. Recess should be the highlight of their day—a time to build social skills, release energy, and return to the classroom refreshed and ready to learn.

While it looks like "just play," these resources are vital tools for development:

Kickball Bases and Balls: These aren't just for sports; they are for leadership and conflict resolution. Students will learn how to organize a fair game, take turns, and navigate the "gray areas" of rules and sportsmanship.

Sidewalk Chalk: This provides a necessary outlet for creative expression and fine motor skills. For my students who need a "brain break" that is calm and imaginative, chalk turns the pavement into a canvas where they can collaborate on murals or practice literacy through word games.

Multi-Sport Ball Pack: Having enough equipment for everyone eliminates the "waiting game." This ensures every student gets the physical activity they need to regulate their bodies, which directly leads to better focus, higher stamina, and fewer behavioral disruptions during our afternoon lessons.
