Rebuilding After an EF-5 Tornado Ripped Through Our Town

My students would like to listen to music, and practice their fluency through an i-Pod touch, two i-Pod touch covers, and a stereo system.

My Students

Have you ever imagined the impact that music can have on a classroom? Music can be used for so many different things in a classroom. For example, during transition time, during reading time, or as a reward.

My students and my school recently suffered a great loss.

We lost our school in a tornado that ripped through our town. Since the school is a neighborhood school, most of my students lost their homes too. The school is a high poverty school that has a high percentage of students who receive free and reduced breakfast and lunch.

My Project

These technology resources are going to greatly impact my classroom. My students will be able to use the i-Pod touch to video themselves doing and making projects, use them to practice math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). We will use the stereo for music to use during transition time to help the students move from one subject to another or from one place in the room to another.

This project is important because my students need the opportunity to have this exposure to technology at a young age.

These pieces of technology will help my students have real-world learning experiences.
