Rebuild a Welcoming Space for Paradise High Campfire Survivors
Help me give my students a welcoming space to learn. Flexible seating such as bean bag chairs and other options will give student choices when it comes to collaborating or delving into reading and research on their own.
My students are brilliant, funny, and inquisitive, and thrive on the frequent discussions we have in our class and opportunities to read and research topics that intrigue them.
Unfortunately, our little town of Paradise was recently devastated by wildfires and we are recreating our school in a new location; I want to create a welcoming space where students feel empowered to explore ideas.
I know one thing that would help my students thrive would be some options for flexible seating - spaces where they could work together on projects, or individually dive into a book.
My Project
My students have been through so much upheaval since the Campfire wildfire ravaged our little town of Paradise, but one thing that hasn't changed is their desire to learn.
Flexible seating will provide a welcoming learning space for students to work collaboratively on projects or delve into research or reading on their own, providing some much needed normalcy after the stress of the Northern California wildfires.
We will be able to use the various types of seating in this project to give the students choice when it comes to how they want to learn.
Students deserve a safe, comfortable place to explore ideas and I'm hoping you'll help us rebuild this space for them in our new school.
