Help me give my students the supplies they will need to rebirth our school music program. Our program's third year is coming to an end and as we grow our resources become scarce. Big dreams, big sound!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My middle school students have worked tremendously hard for the past three years to show our district students have great talent and want to grow a music program of high quality. However, because of past band leadership and experiences, students have been unable to explore their musical interests for the past decade or more. No matter the circumstances, grade 6-8 students have stepped out and been the performing band in the public eye for the entire community. They have been on 7 college visits for performances and workshops, Air Force Band concerts, participated in community parades, and enjoyed many exciting battle of the bands performances.
In our many trips we have taken to expose students to the band world, they have noticed we are not equipped like many others and parents fret at the cost they may be faced with.
These items will allow students to further their abilities to display the highest quality of musicianship. As students progress, they will need the correct supplies that will excel them to higher levels of performance. The goal for this project is to introduce the diverse techniques that instruments possess when upgraded with mallets made of different materials, mouthpieces that are graduated in size, and other accessories that will improve overall daily functionality.
We graciously thank you for taking the time to read our story and believing in our big dreams.
