Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It is pivotal that students see themselves in the books they read. It is also important to help students be exposed to varying perspectives.

Our goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment that allows students to think, explore and engage with the world around them.

These read aloud titles are featured in the book Rebellious Read Alouds, by Vera Ahiyya. This educator empowers teachers to encourage conversations about important and culturally relevant topics through read alouds. This teacher text and the supporting read alouds will allow us to connect with topics around such as identity, family, traditions, names and features.
