My Students
It's a high-needs school where over 70 percent of the students live in some degree of poverty. We also receive students from a nearby homeless shelter.
We are a Turn Around School and we are dedicated to helping all students succeed.
Many of my students are also English Language Learners and because of this, they need extra support and a more creative means of instruction.
My students haven't had it easy but they come to school with a smile on most days and are ready to learn. Many have gaps in their academic learning and I am always trying to find ways to fill those holes to help my students be more successful. They inspire me every day!
My Project
My students this year are struggling with their math reasoning skills. The Tang math materials will help students to build number sense and their math reasoning skills. These materials will help my students to see how numbers work and that they can make numbers do what they want them too. The headphones will also help students focus in on their listening skills and to stay focused while working.
I fully believe that each child can learn if given the right tools.
I know that these tools will allow students to expand on their current understanding and help them grow like never before!
