This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are a diverse group of Kinders in a low income inner-city school. Despite many challenges my students come to school with an enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn. Many are entering the classroom for the very first time all while learning English!

I want to provide my students with the best posable materials to ensure we build a strong foundation for future readers.

That is where Really Great Reading materials come in: Really Great Reading provides foundation in reading, multisensory, and explicit reading structure to my all my students.

Specifically I am requesting the Launchpad Teacher Guide Set to be used with my tier 2 and 3 students as a means of intervention. This teachers guide provided guided instruction that complements our core curriculim and also includes Includes a set of Launchpad Sound & Letter Cards , interactive sound and letter instruction and practice, and uppercase / lowercase letters with guideword and character images Kindergarten students need to build a strong foundation.

I am also requesting a Countdown Lesson Plan Set for my tier 1 kindergarten students. Countdown is an essential supplement to any core kindergarten reading program. It’s designed to be taught 15–25 minutes a day, 5 days a week. This powerful, sequential and efficient exposure to key literacy concepts ensures that your students establish a firm foundation in the subskills that lead to strong decoding and fluent reading.

Finally, Kindergarten anchor charts to display reminders of skills taught and word building cards will complete this kit and help my students become strong and confident readers.
