My Students

My third-grade students are all learning to be bilingual English/Spanish speakers. These students are all eager to learn. I teach in the only school in Utah that is completely dual immersion from first grade through fifth grade. This means there is no lottery if students attend this school; they all spend half of their day in English and half in a Spanish speaking class. It is also a Title 1 school with a very diverse student population. Many students receive free and reduced-price meals. Some also are sent home each weekend with a supply of food. I believe my students deserve nothing but the best!

My Project

These materials will provide Non Fiction text to read during Tier 1 instruction. My students will have access to these materials if they are absent for any reason. For example, each week we read the same text three times. The first time is the "I read" the next day is "Echo read" and the third day the students partner read the same text. My students are answering academic questions about the text each time they read it.

As a teacher, I am always trying to improve my instruction by taking continuing education classes to be the best educator that I can be.

I am currently taking a Reading Tier 1 year long class offered via the University of Utah. Therefore, I need access to non fiction text weekly.
