This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Today's students are constantly on their devices.
While we try to keep their eyes off of screens as much as we can, we still need students to learn grade level academic tasks.
And when the kids are on their devices, not many of them are engaged in the school approved online textbook.
This is where you and I step in and give the students a better alternative.
During class discussions, we can search the web for this information and instantly have it posted to their online learning platform. With this digital scanner and document reader, students can quickly have access to the selling price of homes in the neighborhood, the current batting average of Major League baseball players, the monthly average rainfall of Seattle and compare it to Death Valley. This can all be done while the kids are still conversing.
Then the students can annotate and create real time academic work that is relevant to the students' voices.
