My Students

Our elementary school houses grade levels Pre-K through fifth. These students come from a diverse range of backgrounds and nationalities. All of these students are served in my STEM classroom.

It does not matter what age or grade level, every student enjoys hands-on activities and creative projects.

This is the first year that STEM has been a separate class available to the students. This means that students will have more opportunities to expand their knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

My Project

These STEM kits take real-world situations and put the students in the engineer's seat. The students work together to solve the problem using the information and materials provided in the kits. The kits include an oil spill challenge, water shortage challenge, and energy crisis challenge.

These STEM challenges are beneficial to students, because they ask students to solve situations that are very real in today's world.

Students often want to know when and where they might use certain skills, and these challenges answer those questions. It is important that students understand that scientists and engineers are not always in a lab or office. They are out in the world solving it's problems!
