My Project
The goal for the project is to provide my High School Students with real world math experiences and skills.
Class:
Special Ed Math ( Resource and inclusion)
Subjects: Pre-algebra, Algebra, and Probability and Statistics
What makes my students unique? Most of my students are looking to go into trade work versus going to college.
To achieve the aforementioned goal, the items I chose focuses on helping my students to learn math that ties to the world after high school. Helping them to learn finances, budgeting, business, and how to manage money. As most of my students are not planning to go to college, I see this type of approach to math beneficial for their after high school success.
Math Games / Cash flow game
This will specifically help students to learn how to manage money and make smart investments.
Math Skill Books and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens
To help reinforce math skills that my students lack so they can become proficient in basic math.
Whiteboards:
Will use for students to work on white board and be able to collaborate and work on questions with classmates versus traditional paper worksheets.
Vending Machines:
Help my students learn how to run a business. Teaching them accounting, marketing, business plans, work ethic and more!
