Real Science for Real Cool Kids!

Help me give my students high quality science centers including insects, weather, animals life cycles and plants. We also need an awesome hands-on specimen kit with bones, fossils and more.

My Students

Our class has 10 to 15 students each year in grades Kindergarten through Second Grade. The children in this class are awesome, funny, and eager kids who experience special needs and learning differences. Our school is very diverse and high poverty, and we serve a historically black and chronically under served neighborhood. BEH is a Title 1 school with over 90% of students coming from low income households. For our school to thrive, community support is vital. Every year the whole school has a story book parade and many other awesome community events. We are so proud to be in the strong and beautiful neighborhood in Portland Oregon.

My Project

The Instant learning centers will allow our students some independence in studying about weather, insects, animals, life cycles and more. The specimen kit and sensory substances (soft sand and water beads) will help bring our science units to life and increase understanding with hands-on exploration in our science station!

These kids love to learn and science is a strong favorite!

Our students will be able to incorporate science into their play with the Toob toys featuring the animals, trees and even Astronauts that we are studying! We are creating a science space in our room and these tools will really enliven it and amplify the learning happening in our room!
