With school looking very different this year with remote learning, it is more important than ever to get real books into the hands of my students as we learn.

Many of my students are limited in their exposure to books and rely on my school library to be able to read wonderful books. There is nothing better than holding a book in our hands as we take the adventure through the story. School is their opportunity and the place where they can learn more about the world, helping them to understand things can be very different than what they see and experience right now. Through exposure to learning more and being critical thinkers, they can begin to enhance and change their lives.

I need the resources to encourage more learning through books and access to quality information and ideas.

My Project

Even though we can't be together in the classroom to experience the magic of books, I still want to get the chapter book we are reading together into the hands of my students. There is nothing like a beautiful book to help transport us into an adventure, without even needing to leave the house.

Help me provide my students with their own copy of The One and Only Ivan and the follow up book, The One and Only Bob.

I am going to record myself reading a chapter a day but need my students to be able to follow along with their own book.
