My amazing special needs students are inquisitive, determined, and want to try new things! My students learn best with a hands-on approach that connects to real-life situations! They come to school ready to learn life skills that will carry them through their post-high school education and beyond into adulthood. These awesome individuals teach me to enjoy life to the fullest!
COVID-19 has impacted our classroom learning in various ways over the past year and a half.
In my classroom, the aspect of learning that has been hit the hardest is student personal learning in life and job skills. We have not been able to access the community as much as we would like, this impacts our learning of these much-needed skills.
I would love to provide access to learning life and job skills that can be done inside the classroom, giving my students a hands-on approach when we are not able to access the community.
My Project
I have requested materials and resources that will continue to benefit my students in this unsettled time of COVID-19.
The materials requested will allow my students to safely learn through a hands-on approach, even if we can't access the community like we used to before the pandemic hit.
With these materials, I will be building individual task boxes for my students with special needs. These task boxes will use materials that help with sensory, science, math, money, social studies, and numerous other goals my students are working on individually.
I truly appreciate this opportunity and can't wait for my students to explore all the possibilities these materials will bring!
