My students need a hands-on activity trip to the Phoenix Zoo. They will fill out field guides and do activities that fulfill the science standards.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 24 students in my classroom although I am asking to be able to send the entire first grade. We are a Title I school, so a trip like this to the zoo would be an awesome experience. Many of the students are very excited to learn.

The children here are very interested in learning and are always looking for a way to further their learning.

The school that I teach at is a M. Public School and they are also looking for any way for the students that attend to further their educational experience while they attend this school.

My Project

The children will use this field trip as a great experience for the animal habitat unit that we do in the class, for this is a real life example of the habitats. The children will also be filling out a field guide while they are at the Phoenix Zoo and then they will bring this information back and use that information to create a mini habitat for an animal they saw there.

I have already said a lot about how this will impact the children.

But I think that the number one reason is that most of the children probably would not be able to do something like this without the help of the donations from the people on this website.
