My Project
My goal is that each student will have their own copy of On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong and Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo to read both in and out of class.
We have spent the last few years staring at screens, and I believe that our youth will benefit from having real-life, analog, old-school paper books!
Reading pace varies greatly among my students, so this will allow students to take advantage of reading time that is set aside during our class, but also gives them the freedom to read on their own time. I don't assign traditional homework, but students have given positive feedback about having the option to read outside of school (how wonderful is that?).
