This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
With all the uncertainty that we face this coming school year, it is imperative that we are able to provide the tools and support for our students to be successful whether they are learning in the classroom face-to-face or in an online distance learning model. Many students lack resources that will help them be successful as they work at home. My students have proven that distance-learning will not get in their way.
My Project
Please help me provide real books to my students to bring home. With distance-learning, we now have limited access to books that are real. Using technology is a wonderful thing. However, sometimes you just really need to hold a book in your hands and flip through the pages. Imagine a student’s face and how they feel when they get a brand new book that is theirs. Their eyes light up when they see the bright pictures and bold words. Now with too many things being unsafe and not sanitary, the students will not be given the opportunity to use the Classroom library books. We will have to do an online digital format for all books and materials. I would like to give each student a brand new bag with books that can be their very own.
