My Students

Have you ever published a piece of writing or art? Remember the sense of accomplishment you felt seeing it published and displayed? My students would be thrilled to see the final projects displayed for all to admire.

After the devastating event that affected our community just a few short months ago and a long recovery ahead, my students have more than the usual hurdles to overcome this school year.

No tornado will keep us down but it sure has had a life changing affect on each of us in this community. My students already come from an environment of poverty and strife. We will never be the same again but somehow I think we will be stronger with the understanding that no matter what is set in our path we will be able to rebuild and recover.

My Project

Creating a close-knit classroom environment is a necessity when building lasting relationships and life-long learners. With a new "writer's table" we can begin working closely to become the best writers we possibly can. We will share ideas, thoughts, questions, advice, and more. With the special author's displays students will be able to share the written words they have worked hard to create. How exciting it will be to see their faces as they place the work for their teachers and fellow students to read.

Writing is a life-time skill that will help students in all aspects of their lives.

Whether it be for a college essay, a proposal for a new project at work, a special letter to someone they love or whatever comes about, they will have the confidence to write their thoughts and ideas for others to read.
