Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am privileged to teach 26 energetic and amazing kindergarten students everyday! My school is in a multicultural, low socio-economic area in a large urban city. My students come from hard-working, struggling, caring families who cannot afford expensive educational materials for their children.
My students are eager and enthusiastic about becoming expert readers and writers!
They have worked hard all year to attain our number one goal in kindergarten; to learn to read and write! My students love reading both fiction and nonfiction texts. They enjoy writing stories about their families, friends, pets, and hobbies too!

My Project
These materials will enable my kindergarten students to write creative, authentic, exciting stories. My students have worked so hard this year on mastering the letter names, sounds, sight words, reading, and fluency skills. They are ready to show off all of the amazing things they have learned this year!
The write and wipe boards and markers will allow my students to brainstorm their amazing story ideas.
The newsprint, jumbo crayons, and composition books will enable my students to create individual stories that they are excited to share with their classmates and families. My students are so excited to become writers!
