My Project

Imagine walking into a brand-new classroom for the very first time — feeling a mix of excitement and nerves — and seeing a desk already filled with everything you need to do your best work: fresh pencils, colorful markers, organized folders, and a bright new notebook just waiting for your ideas. This small moment sets the tone for a whole year of confidence, creativity, and growth.

In my third-grade classroom, supplies aren't just things we use — they are bridges that connect students to their learning, to each other, and to their own sense of possibility.

Pencils and printer paper give students a place to record their thinking. Markers and highlighters make their creativity shine across subjects. Chart paper allows us to build shared knowledge together. Glue, scissors, and sharpeners give students the tools they need to craft, revise, and take pride in their work. Plastic storage bins, color-coded folders, and organized systems teach vital executive functioning skills — like planning, organizing, and self-management — that students will carry with them far beyond third grade.

By providing basic materials like markers, folders, chart paper, printer paper, pencils, glue, scissors, sharpeners, bins, highlighters, and erasers, you help lift a huge weight off families' shoulders. You allow students to focus not on what they’re missing, but on who they are becoming. You give teachers the ability to spend time building strong, welcoming classrooms instead of scrambling to fill supply gaps.

My students come from diverse racial, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds, but what unites them is their incredible spirit, creativity, and drive to learn. With your help, we can make sure that every child — no matter their story — walks into our classroom on the first day and knows, without a doubt, "I belong here. I’m ready for this."
