My Students

Our students are smart and creative, and come from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. Our school itself is a performing arts magnet, and students have the opportunity to take music, movement/dance, drama, and media weekly, and they are eager to learn and to be creative. Over 75% of our students receive free/reduced price lunch. In music class, we work on enjoying and playing music together, fostering musicianship and playing together in an ensemble. We sing, play instruments, and move to the beat! Our goal is to create lifelong artists, learners, and good citizens!

My Project

This project will provide the Recorder Revolution Curriculum, as well as some needed rhythm sticks, for our music class.

Recorder Revolution provides up-tempo and fun recorder songs as well as various dance and activities to make playing recorder even more fun!

This curriculum will help keep students engaged as we learn to play recorder together. Learning to play the recorder helps students learn to read music, helps with finger dexterity, and helps us learn to play together as an ensemble.

This project also includes some needed rhythm sticks as we have had a few break and need a few more so each student can have a pair and participate. Thank you for supporting music at our school!
