These items will provide my students with hands-on resources for retelling familiar stories using their own words. Students will have picture cues which will aid in their abilities to sequence stories. These developmentally appropriate and kid-sized pieces will allow them to utilize and enhance their fine motor skills. Students in kindergarten are in the early childhood development zone, the foundation of language and social skills. The opportunity to collaborate with peers encourages both of these skills in the classroom setting.
My goal is to provide ongoing occasions for students to improve in all areas of development.
Students will be able to practice mastery of standards in both reading and language through the use of these materials. Students will be able to demonstrate understanding and comprehension of stories. In addition, the resources I have selected will also allow students to tell stories in their own words and provide them with the opportunity to utilize their imagination.
My exceptional students come from a variety of backgrounds facing challenges every day. I strive to provide a resourceful environment full of possibilities for all my students. My students look forward to the many ways we are able to make learning fun for all.
