This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We have a large student body. Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with a majority of our students receiving free lunch. Our school is an ethnically diverse school in the Bronx. Students come from many ethnic backgrounds including Spanish, African, Arabic, Asian and Indian. As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their learning as well.

My Project
My students love reading time!
Each week our class has the opportunity to “book shop,” and select the books that interest them for independent reading.
They also love reading group time, but we are limited on the variety of books we have for reading groups.
Please help me add to our reading group library. By purchasing sets of 6 books, my students will have the opportunity to read some new chapter books during reading group time. My students love chapter books, in particular The Magic Tree House, Frog and Toad, and Little Bear series.
