My Students
I have the best kindergarten students ever and I want to make their learning experience the best ever. I teach in a Title I school and want my children to have the books and reading materials available to help them become proficient readers. My students are eager and ready to be back in their classroom.
What can I do to help my young students become organized with getting ready to and continue to read?
In this crazy time in the world, where we cant share anything I came up with the idea if individual book boxes. I will be able to have a book box with level readers in the box for each child in my room. By having these individual boxes the books can remain germ free. With the book box caddy I will be able to go to each child, give then their box and move on to the next child safely.
My Project
As we transition back to in person learning, my children will be learning to read. This is a very exciting time for my early readers. We begin the process with what we call "leveled readers" . The children will be getting a number of books to match their reading level. As they become better readers their level goes up. In these crazy times when sharing isn't an option I needed to come up with a better idea of how to sort and share my leveled readers with my students. I have many books but I need to be able to give the students their Owen book boo and a way to get the books safely around the room, hence the idea of the book cart with a bin on the cart for each child. Keeping everyone safe and reading.
