Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a special education, low-income class in New York. My students are in third, fourth, and fifth grade. They are a great group of dynamic learners and have various learning needs.
Organizational supplies and concrete materials will enhance students learning to specifically target learning goals and social skills.
My students benefit from repetitive and reusable work, hands-on materials, and organized tools to use within daily routines. My students are unique and continuously work on building their independence. This includes social emotional learning.
My Project
When it comes to learning, nothing is more important than feeling safe and having the tools you need to succeed! By creating an environment that gives this to students, we are giving them the best opportunities to learn.
The book bags and hooks will help students stay organized.
Their books will be ready and they will know exactly where to find them. All reading time will be spent reading instead of looking around for our books!
The carpet will create a calming alternative space to read! Sometimes, we need a new environment to focus, be relaxed, and really take in a new book. This will help us achieve that.
