Ready to Read on My Level

My students need leveled book bins filled with books on their reading level to help them advance in reading skills and gain confidence. These bins come with five books on each level.

My Students

I have a class of very energetic first graders who love learning. They enjoy listening to stories but love getting their hands on books to read themselves. They are excited about reading and need the opportunity to have access to books on their own skill level.

We are from a small school in a low socioeconomic area of Northeast Tennessee.

Our school is a Title I school. Poverty is high and many of our children are being raised by grandparents.

My Project

My first graders are eager to begin reading. However, it is frustrating for them to get a book, find a comfy seat, and realize the book is way to hard for them.

I would like to help my students by organizing books by reading levels.

Students are tested at the beginning of the year to determine their reading level. Bins organized with books by levels would make the selection process easier for them.

It is very rewarding when I see the excitement on their face when I inform them they are ready to move the next bin. Your generous donation would help build stronger readers.
