Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come to school every day ready to learn, be challenged, and have fun! They love to read and be read to! My goal is to give them as many opportunities to read and be read to that I can during the school year.

My school is a Title I school with students receiving free breakfast and after school daycare.

My class consists of ELD and SEL students who need extra help to access the curriculum. Although my students require extra help, they come to school every day ready to learn!

My Project

The books on CD will help my students to practice their listening, and reading skills. Students will be able to hear how books should be read while following along in the book. Students will be able to make connections with words and their meanings without having to struggle to sound out words. Also my students need fun character books to spark their interest and love for reading. The plush characters will make their reading experience cool! These materials will help my struggling and advanced readers to be able to see how a story should be read with expression, to make reading fun and interesting.
