My Students

I am a 2016 graduate, fresh out of college! I am a second year first grade teacher to a wonderful class of 16 first grade students who love to learn! This is a class full of children who are determined to work hard and beat the odds that are set against them. They are from a high poverty area. Their home life is not ideal, but they make the best of it. This school is a Title I school in an urban area.

Being a second year teacher in a low income area, I want to make the best of what I can provide for my students and make them excited to learn and feel at home without any stress.

This school has allowed me to feel like I am at home despite being 500 miles away from my family. I incorporate literacy instruction into my classroom daily no matter what time of the day it is! Having reading and class materials that incorporate culture would allow my students to share about themselves and learn about others!

My Project

My students absolutely love to read and be read to! My last projected that included the listening station was fully funded through this site. All we need now are the CD's and books to fully incorporate this in our classroom and literacy time throughout the day!

By donating to our project you will be giving students the opportunity to read and be read to in the classroom!

They will be able to use this station during Guided Reading time. I will also use this as a reward for good behavior among the class! Finding a way to love learning in different ways!
