This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As 1st graders the concept of time is a skill that they have not yet mastered. Visual timers make "time" more concrete and will allow my students to pace themselves, and to utilize their time more efficiently.

I am a teacher in a school that serves students who come from low income working class families that live in or close to one of Los Angeles low income housing complexes.

My students are some of the most creative 1st graders you can ever meet. They are smart, enthusiastic, and active students who enjoy learning outside as well as inside the classroom.

My Project

The large timer and volume tracker will be an effective visual cue that will help my students and I stay on task during our different activities throughout the day. The individual timers will be utilized by students during independent work time to serve as reminders for them to move to a different learning center. These resources will teach the students how to work efficiently, and how to pace themselves while working.

The items that I am requesting will help my students and I continue our quest for a safe productive environment.

The timers and volume control tracker will be great additions to our classroom.
