My classroom is a very inviting and safe place where students can learn at their own pace without the judgement or pressure of meeting standards and passing assessments. Students work at their own pace and within their preferred learning style. Since many of my students live in a poverty stricken environment, I have created a space where students can forget the struggles they often face beyond the classroom. I strive for my students to learn that school is not just a place to be every day. Rather, it is a place where their lives happen and develop; a place where learning is fun and exciting every day.
My students are full of life and eager to learn.
Because my students have disabilities, they often feel defeated until they come to my classroom where they have less restrictions about what and how to learn. All of the students that come to my class are below grade level, usually in more than one content area, and need intense interventions. Since all of my students are younger in age, they are very active learners and crave movement any way they can get it.
My Project
The flexible seating options that I am asking for, Zenergy Balls, will offer my students a way to learn while doing what they love, move. All of my students are Kindergarten through second grade children who have a lot of energy and usually not a lot of time during the day to release that energy. My goal is to offer a space where learning comes natural to them which must involve the ability for movement.
By donating to our project, you will help to improve students attention through the ability to move while learning.
A variety of seating options will help to improve student attention, focus and concentration so that each student gets the best learning experience.
