This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Kids get excited about reading comics and TOON books has a collection just right for young learners to start reading. I know that these TOON books will help my students discover the type of reading that excites them. I can help my students get hooked on reading as they gain critical literacy skills.

My students are a super dynamic group of learners.

They are fantastic kids eager to please and ready to learn. They inspire me every day. This young generation of emergent readers loves comics and we know that comic books have been shown to be useful for beginning readers. My students will have fun reading every day!

My Project

My students will use the TOON books to practice many critical literacy skills. Everyone knows that small kids love comics. The TOON book collection will engage my little learners in reading, writing, listening and writing and is aligned to the Common Core State Standards. We can use them in whole group reading as we discover genre and partner read to practice reading aloud. Also, I will be able to use them in small group readings to help struggling readers and advanced readers. The collection is fun and the illustrations are fantastic and they motivate kids to read independently and to write their own stories.

TOON books represent a whole new approach to helping beginning readers.

This collection is the first in high quality comics designed for young learners to read on their own. We need your help to get these books into the hands of my kinder kids. The TOON books will fascinate my students with tales that will welcome them to the magic of reading. Please help us expand our classroom library with one of the most interesting lines of children's literature being published right now!
