My Students

I am a first-grade and reading teacher in a wonderful school in Wisconsin. My students are very special, and I just love going to school every day to see the sparkle in their little 5- to 8-year-old eyes. I also get to connect with students of various ages during and after school. I truly have the most special job in the world and treasure every day with my students! My students love to read, pretend and imagine. They are curious and love to learn! We participate in, and they love so many fun activities throughout the year, and our hope is to add even more. My students are amazing!

My Project

We are ready to go back to school and students will be learning using a hybrid model where they can choose to attend full-time or learn virtually through a distance model. I want to be ready to offer the best practices that I can for all of my students despite their mode of instruction.

I can't wait to start teaching my students again, and these items will make learning a great experience for all of my students!

I am requesting a sneezeguard barrier so that I can teach my students how to read while being able to sit across from them in a safe way. Using this barrier, students will be able to see letters, words, and other teaching materials that I am trying to show them, and they will be able to see my mouth form the various sounds. I am also requesting tablet stands so that I can display tablets for my students to see so that I can record their reading and so that I can send out videos to create great learning opportunities like videos of our favorite songs. I am also requesting a forehead thermometer so that I can check a child's temperature very quickly. Finally, I am requesting a touchless soap dispenser so that students can quickly and easily wash their hands to help prevent the spread of germs.

My students are nervous, yet very excited about school in the fall. Students shouldn't have to worry about safety. Their focus should be on learning and having fun, and I want to provide opportunities for them to do that. These items will help me to make that happen, and we appreciate any support that you can offer so much! Thank you for looking at our project! It's going to be a great year!
