I am lucky enough to have an extremely diverse group of excited learners coming in to my fourth grade classroom. My students come from all different backgrounds and learn in several different ways. They are all happy to be at school and are ready learn new things with their first year being in the upper grades.
My students are fantastic at exploring new ideas and finding new methods of learning.
I am so excited to be their teacher this year and see what they will accomplish.
My Project
Our class participates in a national program called Battle of the Books! This is a collection of books that are used to get young readers excited to read. At the end of reading the books, the students are able to participate in a series of battles where they have to answer information about the book they read. This is especially important in fourth grade where they are really needing to learn how to comprehend. I have added all the books for this year's battle in order to give the students the materials they will need to keep reading and make them easily accessible in my classroom.
I have also added some over the ear headphones to my donation.
We use a lot of technology and I often have students who struggle because their headphones break or they are uncomfortable for them. It would be really helpful to have a classroom set so that my students can have them in the classroom and don't have to worry about going out to buy new ones.
