This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Children need vision! I am a technology teacher in a public school in a low income neighborhood. I teach grades Pre-K through fifth grade.
In a world where technology is dominant, students need to learn how to use equipment in different ways. Our students do not have access to much technology in their lives. I'd like to help them create visual projects and see the world or at least their community from a different perspective. I would like my students to be able to create short films and slide shows for technology projects. This use of camera equipment will help the students put a personal spin and meaningful aspect to their projects instead of the same old paper and poster board project. These assignments will also help them learn about editing just like the first draft in writing and a final production.
We need working digital cameras and batteries for still pictures to put together a slide shows and media projects at least for the fifth graders before graduation.
Your help will ensure that students will be able to create lasting images and projects that will have meaning and also serve as a keepsake.
