Do you remember when you were in school and you were asked to read, recite, or perform in front of and audience? My students would like to be able to practice these skills at a young age so that they will improve their public speaking and grow into adults that are not hesitant about speaking.
My students are kindergarten boys and girls that are ages five and six.
They attend a public school with approximentely 460 students. They are very excited about learning and playing pretend with the puppets in our classroom. One of their favorite centers to visit is our puppet center where the use their imagination to create and put on shows.
With the resources I am requesting for my students, they will inspire imaginative performances. The puppet theater will provide the students with a stage prop for puppet plays or readers theater. The puppet stand would be storage for our many puppets and would allow the students easily accessibility. The two digital cameras would allow for the students to document their performances through photos or video. Also, the digital cameras would allow for those behind the scene students to take part by being the camera person while at the same time improving their technology skills.
By supporting this project, you would be giving some very great kindergarten students a start at becoming very great speakers and performers.
Not afraid to speak or perform in front of an audience. They would have a chance to shine like the stars that they are regardless if they are on stage or behind the scene.
