This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Title I school. They are all eager to learn and grow. Our classroom fosters growth, friendship, and a thirst for learning. They are a very diverse group of students and are some of the sweetest kids I've met!

They enjoy participating in hands-on, student-centered activities and are learning how to work well with one another in small groups.

I have a wide diversity of social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs in my classroom. I want to provide the best learning environment possible for their eager minds to grow!

My Project

An essential part of teaching students to read and write is instilling a strong sense of phonological awareness. This resource will allow me to assign personalized lessons that meet students' specific phonics/spelling needs during their independent work stations and at home for additional practice and enrichment.

By helping students to build a strong phonological foundation in first grade, I can help to ensure that my students will be strong readers as they move into the upper grades, middle school, high school and beyond.
