My Project

As a third grade teacher, I see every day how much my students thrive when they have the chance to move, play, and connect with one another. In today’s classroom, however, opportunities for unstructured physical activity are often limited due to tight schedules, indoor restrictions, or lack of proper equipment. That’s why I’m seeking support to bring recess back to life with fun, active tools and clear movement prompts that make playtime safe, engaging, and meaningful.

This project will fund indoor and outdoor recess supplies such as foam balls, hula hoops, bean bags, floor spots, movement cards, and call-and-response prompts that help me structure short, energizing breaks.

These materials will allow students to enjoy physical activity whether we’re in the classroom, the hallway, or outside, helping them reset, refocus, and build healthy habits.

Recess is where they learn teamwork, problem-solving, and self-control in real time. Having the right tools on hand means I can turn even a five minute break into an opportunity for learning and laughter.

By supporting this project, you’re helping my students get the movement they need to stay focused and ready to learn, practice cooperation, communication, and conflict resolution, develop lifelong habits of wellness and physical activity, and feel seen, valued, and cared for in a classroom that meets their full range of needs, academic, social, and physical.
