Something magical happens when a child finds just the right book. Suddenly, even the most reluctant of readers can't put it down and begs to read more. This is my goal when my students come to our daily book clubs. Not only do I use books clubs as a means to help my students meet our 4th grade Language Arts curriculum, but I also see it as an opportunity to get students really excited and engaged with a text. Their experiences through these stories will extend far beyond just their time in my classroom.

My student's abilities range from being gifted and talented readers to those who barely know how to read a book. Despite these differences, they all share a desire to get into a book instead of just talk about literacy features. Book sets can be expensive and hard to come by, however, I have seen the positive effect they can have on small group instruction. With your help, we will inspire a new generation to engage with reading.
