Help me give my students series books! These much loved books with familiar characters will boost my second graders' comprehension skills. Following a character throughout a series helps students learn to notice patterns in character traits.
My second grade students are creative, energetic, and full of questions! They love to read, write, and are generally curious about everything.
My second graders display a genuine thirst for knowledge and have an innate curiosity and excitement about all things in the world.
One can easily see they are natural scientists, explorers, and analysts, and often ask questions about everything.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning. I encourage them to continue asking questions and seeking answers to help them achieve their fullest potential.
My Project
These books will continue to build my students' love of reading. Through series books, my second graders will read across several books that feature the same character. This will help them to dig deep and notice a character's reactions, motivations, and traits. The series books will also enhance their listening and speaking skills when they have their book club talks with their group members.
Having brand new books will spark their interest and keep them engaged in building their decoding and comprehension skills.
My second grade readers are always excited to see new books in the classroom library and can't wait to get started on reading them.
