My second grade students are creative, energetic, and full of questions! They love to read, write and are generally curious about everything.
My second graders display a genuine thirst for knowledge and have an innate curiosity and excitement about all things in the world.
One can easily see they are natural scientists, explorers, and analysts, and often ask questions about everything.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning. I encourage them to continue asking questions and seeking answers to help them achieve their fullest potential.
My Project
My second graders are avid readers. They love borrowing books from our classroom library to take home, as well as read in class. They have been working hard on building their reading stamina, decoding skills, and comprehension. To do that, they need books - and lots of them!
In second grade, readers practice reading to build fluency, develop strategies to hold on to meaning, and build a "reader's toolkit" for solving tricky words.
A variety of new leveled books would benefit all the students in our class. They love to try out their new skills and desperately need new and engaging texts to help them transition into fluent readers.
